2 Month Old Stats and Update

Well I'm a little behind this week but that's okay. I keep telling myself if I can get 1 blog in a week I've done pretty good. We were all struck down early this week with the stomach virus :( It all started late Sunday night with me. I was sick all that night through the next day. It was awful. I was so sad I couldn't take care of my little girl but thankfully Brandon was there to jump in. Until he got it the next day. He stayed home from work all Tuesday and was so sick. We took Hannah to day care Monday and Tuesday and she seemed fine, but yesterday when I went to pick her up she was in a different outfit so I new something was up. Yep, she had caught the bug and was have several loose poopy diapers all day. Thankfully she wasn't fussy or seemed to sick. I guess that is why the day care didn't call me. She was pretty worn out last night, but still managed to wake up to eat at her regular 3am and 6am feedings. I think she is over the bug today. Hallelujah!!!

We have also had extremely dry weather here lately so she came down with a runny nose and a cough. I'm getting pretty good at the snot sucker bulb. Ha! She hates it though. Hopefully she will be better by this weekend for our Memorial Day block party :)

Today we took her in for her 2 month well baby check. She weighs 11 lbs 15oz so almost 12 lbs. She also grew 3 inches and now is 23 inches long. The doctor said she was measuring in the 70% in both. Her head circumference was also about 70% and was 16". She's one healthy girl except for the runny nose and stomach bug. Here are some more stats for 2 Months.

- You wear size 1 diaper and 3 month clothing. You can wear still some newborn pants and some 3-6 months stuff too.
-You eat 4 oz bottles every 3 hours and every 5-7 hours at night
-You sleep well in your crib at night and fall asleep on your own
-You are so sweet and really have started to open up in the past week
-You started giving us big smiles and looking around more
-You love your baths now and hate to get out of your tub
-You still love your bouncy seat but don't sleep in it as often as you use to
-You still don't really care for your swing but you like the ones at day care
-You started cooing a lot and love to respond back to us when we talk to you
-You love cuddling with me on the couch and I love that time I can spend with you

You are just such a sweet and precious baby Hannah Kate and everyone who meets you can't get enough of you. I can't wait to see how you grow and develop over the next couple of months. You are such a gift from God and we are so blessed to have you here with us. We love you sweet girl!!!

100th Post and 8 Weeks Today!!!

Well it only took me 3 years but I have finally reached 100 blog posts. I neglected my blog towards the end of 2009 and early 2010, but made up for lost time after we found out we were pregnant. Originally I thought I would blog a lot about design and my life as a designer. However, shortly after I started blogging I got engaged, then started planning my wedding, then got married, bought a house, traveled, and then got pregnant. My personal life became the subject of my blog and I'm so glad I have been able to document my life for the past few years. It's been such a whirlwind, but I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Anyway, today Hannah is 8 weeks old. This is also the week I started back at work and my little baby started day care. It was a little nerve wracking to think of her being taking care of by strangers all day 5 days a week when I have been the primary care provider since she was born, but so far so good. She had a great first day and I had a great first day back at work. Things have really transitioned nicely. I'm so thankful we have a place to take her everyday where the people are so friendly and you know her needs are being met. I'm hoping her motor skills will improve and she will get the attention she needs to grow and develop every week.

She's such a serious baby. Hardly ever smiles, but she has cracked a few smiles in the last few days which really melts my heart. She has also been so pacified since starting day care. She just comes home and is so mellow. She is also pretty sleepy so we haven't figured out how long we should let her sleep at night. We got home yesterday and I fed her at 6pm and then she went to sleep from 7-12. Well then she got up again at 3am and then wanted to eat again around 6am. So both daddy and I were a little tired today. We'll figure it out though. I will say that she is so easy to care for at night. She'll wake up and want to eat. I'll feed her, change her diaper, put her back in her crib and she will fall asleep all within 20-30 minutes. So it's not too bad.

She'll be 2 months old on Monday so I need to schedule her well baby checkup for next week. I'll be anxious to see how much weight she has gained but I'm not looking forward to her getting shots. I can hear the crying already. Yikes!!! Well I guess that's it for now. I'll leave you with a photo from Mother's Day and one from Monday. Have a blessed week everyone :)

Life's Movin Fast

We are almost 7 weeks out from the day Hannah came into this world and life hasn't slowed down. I'm going back to work in less than a week and we will be getting into a new routine. Hannah is making great strides. She is wanting to eat more if you can believe it and is now sleeping more at night. She is getting up once a night for the most part. She does have a fussy time though around 6-9 at night. Makes it a little tiring but we deal with it. Overall she's a really good baby and we love her so much. She loves her pacifier. Don't know how we would survive those fussy times without it. She's also wanting to stay up more during the day so we have been getting out of the house more and going on walks. I just put her in this front load infant carrier and away we go.

We had a very busy weekend. On Saturday I spent my morning out shopping for new clothes. My maternity clothes are too big and my regular clothes mostly pants are too small still so I thought I needed a new wardrobe for summer. I really liked what I got. I went to Old Navy and New York and Company. Everything at NY&Co was 40% off or more so I got some really great stuff for not a lot of money. Saturday afternoon we went to Post, TX for my friend Laura's little girl Kacyn's 1st birthday party. Laura is my friend whose husband was the state trooper killed in a car accident last fall. I know it was hard not having Jon there, but it was such a great party and I know everyone had a great time. Kacyn looked liked she was having a ball and her little outfit and cake were so adorable. It was about 100 degrees though so we didn't stay too long. Didn't want the baby to overheat! They're moving to Midland soon and I'm really going to miss my friend, but I know it's what's best her.

I had my first Mother's Day experience on Sunday. It was really nice. We got up and had breakfast and Brandon had ordered me flowers that arrived about the time we sat down to eat. They were lovely. Also he had given me a card that was musical and a 1 hour massage at a day spa I like. Can't wait to use it. We went to church and Hannah did really good. Slept through most of the service. We were a little late though. It's really a lot harder to leave the house now that we have a baby. We then went to eat lunch over at my mom's house and my aunt and uncle were there from Dallas and met Hannah for the first time. I think they kinda liked her. Overall it was a great day. I can't find my camera so I don't have pics from Sunday, but here is a family photo we shot on Saturday. Hope you all have a blessed week.

Baby Hannah Almost 6 Weeks Old :)

Well we are almost 6 weeks out from Hannah's birth. Last week seemed to fly by. I've been feeling so much better and getting out of the house a lot more. We've been on several outings to visit family and I even made a trip with her to Target by myself. She is so easy to take out places and usually doesn't make a sound. Love that!!! She's eating about 4 oz of formula every 3 hours during the day and going 4-5 hours at night. We take shifts sleeping at night so it's not too bad. Hopefully one day she'll just sleep through the night, but until then we will just keep doing what we're doing. She takes a pacifier and that usually puts her right to sleep. She loves to be swaddled before going down and loves to be held. She is really becoming more alert during the day and loves to stretch out and kick those legs. I still don't know how much she weighs but I know she's grown because she's starting to wear some 0-3 month clothes and can't fit into some of her newborn clothes anymore.

This weekend we went to Brandon's dad's house and saw all his family for his stepmom's 60th birthday. His aunt and uncle were there from Andrews and got to see Hannah for the first time. It was really special and of course she was the entertainment of the party and got passed around a lot. I was pretty tired because she kept us up a lot the night before and I felt pretty out of it but she did really well. His dad lives about 20-30 minutes away from our house so I thought I should feed her before we left. She slept the entire ride home, and when we got home we put her down in her bouncy seat. Well I came to check on her a little later and she had spit up what looked like an entire bottle all over her, the seat and her blanket. It was such a mess. I guess that ride home was a little rough for baby's tummy. You live learn!

Well here are some recent photos. Enjoy!!!
