19 Weeks

I'm 19 weeks and 3 days along. Almost half way done!!! And I feel great. I'm getting bigger and bigger but this time around I feel so much better than I did with Hannah. I feel like I have way more energy and hardly any pain. With Hannah the tail bone pain and round ligament pain nearly did me in. I contribute this all to my walking. I've been walking at least 5 days a week and it's been helping so much. I love feeling like myself again and I'm really starting to enjoy pregnancy this time around. I don't love being pregnant like some women do, but I can appreciate it more because this is my last one. Only 20 more weeks until we have a baby in our arms. I can't wait.

Here’s what’s happening in Week 19:

Weight Loss/Gain? I'm really not sure, but if I had to guess I would say around 8lbs.

Cravings: Salads, fruit, cheese, peppers, pickles, and chips and salsa. I don't crave sweets, but if they're in front of me I don't turn them down. Ha!

Aversions: I really don't have many. I just don't like to be around anything with a strong odor.

Miss Anything?
Fitting into my clothes. I'm kinda in that in between stage so it's hard to find something to wear in the morning.

Gender:
We find out a week from today!!! I still don't have a clue what it is but we're so excited to find out. We don't care one way or the other. We really and truly are praying for a healthy baby. I will post next Tuesday and reveal the name then.

Favorite Moment this Week: Celebrating my grandmother's 89th birthday on Saturday. 89 and looking fine Mamere!

Sleeping: Sleep is okay. I've been getting up once a night and also having some pretty crazy dreams.

Stretch Marks? Not yet. I hope I don't get any. I only got a few with Hannah at the very end of pregnancy.

Workout:
Walking as much as I can.

Clothes: A lot of my clothes still fit but are getting tighter by the day. Most of my maternity clothes are for fall and winter so I haven't really started wearing any of those yet. I tried some dresses on at Target and Old Navy but didn't like any.

Baby Movement: I've been feeling little flutters here and there. I expect to feel more frequent movements in the next couple of weeks though.

Most looking forward to: Finding out next Monday if our little Christmas miracle is a prince or princess.

Hannah Kate 28 Months Old

Hannah turned 28 months old yesterday. Wow it's been a long time since I've done a monthly Hannah Kate post. It's not that I don't want to keep up with all her milestones, but I really haven't felt very well for the last few months because of the new baby and she won't sit still long enough anymore to snap photos of her. But I did manage to get a few in the last few months so I thought I would post those now and give a little update.
28 Month Stats:
  • Weight: 26lbs
  • Height: 34.5"
  • You have curly dark blonde hair and beautiful blue green eyes. Your hair has really grown out in the last few months and your eyes are turning more green.
  • You wear 2T clothes mostly but can fit into 24 months still too.
  • You wear a size 4 diaper.
  • You really haven't been interested in potty training. I think the best thing for us is to buy the underwear and just do it one weekend. You would rather play on the potty instead of actually using it.

  • You are still so shy at times and become very anxious around people you don't know and aren't comfortable with. It can be embarrassing at times. I know it's just a stage and something you will grow out of eventually.
  • You wear a size 7 shoe. You hate wearing sandals and have a melt down anytime I try to put them on you. Your are very sensitive about your feet. You say they hurt all the time. I think if this continues we'll bring it up the next time we're at the doctor.
  • Speaking of doctors, on July 4th you got a bladder infection :( No fun at all. I'm so glad you could communicate with us though to tell us it hurt to pee. Otherwise we wouldn't have known.
  • You go to bed around 8pm and sleep til about 6:30-7:30am. But getting you to go to sleep is so hard. It's been easier this week, but ever since we moved you to a toddler bed, you think bed time is play time and love to get out of it 20 times before you actually go to sleep. Some nights your asleep by 8:20 but other nights its more like 9pm. It wears on this pregnant mommy for sure.
  • You are a daddy's girl. You love him so much and always want to know where he is.
  • You are a pretty picky eater. You love to snack but don't eat very much. You do love your breakfast food though. Waffles, pancakes and muffins are your favorites.
  • You still drink almond milk but really only at breakfast and dinner.
  • You have really enjoyed summer. You love being outside and going to the park. You love your pool, running around the yard, playing with our neighbor's daughter Violet, pushing your little cars around, sidewalk chalk, popsicles, and chasing the dog.
  • You hate having your teeth brushed. You like to hold your tooth brush but it's a struggle to brush them every night. However, you have the most gorgeous teeth I've seen on a toddler. Perfectly straight and bright white. Hopefully we won't need braces in the future.
  • Now lets talk talk. You are a chatter box. You love to talk and are so expressive around us. You say new things all the time. Here are the little expressions you like to say often: "Oh goodness," "Oh my," "That's funny," Hannah's funny," " What ya doing," "Who's that," "What's that?" "No, no, no, no, right," "I hold you," "Get down Teensy," "I see you," "I get it," "I do it," "That's good," "I'm crying," "Want some," and "I see you." You are very dramatic at times and don't have any problems expressing yourself verbally. Ha!
  • You can count and know all your colors and can sing your ABC's, Twinkle, Twinkle, and Jesus Loves Me. Whether you do it for us when we ask you to is another story though.
  • You haven't been sick all summer except for the bladder infection PTL!
  • You really are turning into a little person before our eyes. So fun to watch.
I love my big girl so much. She truly is a blessing to us. Her world is going to change come December with the arrival of her new sibling, but I know we will adjust in time. For now, I will cherish my precious little two year old and all the new things she's accomplishing day by day.

San Antonio Trip

Back in May we took a trip to San Antonio and New Braunfels for my co-worker's wedding. We had a great time and everything was beautiful. Traveling with a toddler is never an easy task, but she does pretty well as long as she has her snacks and movies. Portable dvd players are a lifesaver on long road trips.

Before the wedding we stopped off in San Antonio for some sight seeing and family fun. We took a trip to the San Antonio Zoo and stayed on the Riverwalk. It's a great place to take your kids on vacation.

On our way to the wedding in New Braunfels, we stopped by the Vineyards Restaurant outside San Antonio. This is the place we got engaged 5 years ago.
Then we had some time to kill so we decided to go to Natural Bridge Caverns Wildlife Ranch. This place was awesome. We got to drive around in our car and feed the animals out the window. It was truly an unique experience. And Hannah Kate loved it. So did her Mommy, especially the giraffes.
San Antonio is such an awesome vacation spot in Texas. I loved going there growing up and visiting my grandparents. Now I'm experiencing the city in a whole new way with my own family. I hope we take many more trips there in the future.

17 Weeks

I'm 17.5 weeks pregnant. Only 2.5 weeks and I'll be half way to the finish line. Wahoo! I'm finally feeling better and having a better outlook on this pregnancy again. People who've never experienced  severe morning sickness like I did will never understand the trial it takes on you both mentally and physically. I was sick everyday from week 6 to week 16 with this pregnancy. It was really tough, but I've made it through. I couldn't have done it without the help of my wonderful husband and my mom who helped me out so much with Hannah when I couldn't.

Here’s what’s happening in Week 17:

Weight Loss/Gain? I went to the doc last week and I've gained 5lbs total so far. Too much yummy 4th of July food.

Cravings: Salads, fruit, cheese, peppers, pickles, and chips and salsa. I'm really working hard to stay away from sweets. I'm hoping to not gain as much weight this pregnancy and sweets just stick to me. Ha!

Aversions: I really don't have to many except I can't stand the smell of bar-b-q or strong spicy stuff. I'm also still hating the smell of air fresheners and our dish soap.

Miss Anything?
Maybe drinking wine. Other than that not really.

Gender: We find out Aug 5th!!! I still don't really have a clue what we are having. I can picture my life with another girl, but having a boy would be a new and exciting adventure. I really just want a healthy baby. We have chosen a girl name and a boy name so whenever we do find out I'll announce the name :)

Favorite Moment this Week: Having some energy again and Brandon hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was a strong 142bpm.

Sleeping: I'm back sleeping in our room. We got new sheets and I'm sleeping like a baby.

Stretch Marks? Not yet. I hope I don't get any. I only got a few with Hannah at the very end of pregnancy.

Workout:
I've started walking every night around 6pm for about 30 minutes. It's been very therapeutic and has really helped with the aches and pains I'm getting now that I've hit my second trimester. I hope this will pay off for me in the third trimester when I'm really feeling stretched out.

Clothes: Most all my regular clothes still fit, but they're getting tighter by the day. I feel most comfortable in loose dresses and leggings.

Most looking forward to:
Brandon's family reunion this weekend in Ruidoso and feeling the baby kick soon.

15 Weeks

I'm definitely off on my posting this week. I have been thrown for a loop once again with this pregnancy. I woke up on Wednesday morning with a terrible sore throat and a headache. By noon it was so terrible that I decided to take off the rest of the afternoon and rest. By Wednesday night my head was throbbing, I was achy and had a 101 fever. I couldn't keep much down and I was getting worried so I called my doc. She basically told me to keep doing what I was doing and if it got worse go to the ER. I went to bed and woke up around 2am with the worse body chills I've ever had. My fever was back up and I was hurting. That went on for 2 hours. Finally I went back to sleep. I stayed home Thursday and went to see my doctor that afternoon and got checked out and got some meds. The baby was fine and I'm feeling much better today. But being sick with a sinus infection while pregnant is no fun at all. I can't take anything I would normally take and basically rely on my Neti Pot and cough drops. I'm still pretty congested, but hopefully will be back to normal soon.

Here’s what’s happening in Week 15:

Weight Loss/Gain? I think I back up to +1 pounds.

Cravings: Food has gotten better. I'm able to eat more, but I really don't have any strong cravings yet.

Aversions: Like I said food has gotten better this week for me. I've branched out from my usual oatmeal, grilled cheese and chicken salad diet and tried some new stuff. My nose is so sensitive still that if I smell something weird it still makes me gag. I can't stand the strong odor of our dish washing soap and Brandon's deodorant.

Gender: Won't find out til first week of August. I go back and forth to what I think it is.

Favorite Moment this Week: Not throwing up everyday. But last week was really tough so it's hard for me to pick a favorite moment.

Sleeping: I'm sleeping in the guest room right now, because it's the quietest, coolest, and most comfortable place for me to sleep. Did this when I was pregnant with Hannah too.

Clothes: Most all my regular clothes still fit, but they're getting tighter by the day.

Most looking forward to: Fourth of July weekend and hanging out with my family.
