Well Thanksgiving came and went in a flash as most holiday's do. We had a wonderful time giving thanks and spending time with our families. First we celebrated mom's birthday on Wednesday. Then had Thanksgiving lunch with my dad, then dinner with the Hughes family that evening. Hannah is still trying to figure all of them out. Ha! I keep telling her she's a Hughes and she better start liking it. We then had Thanksgiving (Mexican food) lunch with my mom, grandmother, uncle and aunt on Friday. Hannah had fun entertaining them. It was so fun and I'm still stuffed. I'm also feeling a little burnt out today and fighting a cold.
Even though we were really busy, I still managed to get all my Christmas decorations up early this year. I'm feeling the Christmas spirit and really wanted to do it big this year.
I decided to go with an all gold, white, silver winter themed room for the dining room. I love how it turned out. I also decided we needed three trees this year, so the small tree we've used in the living room the past few years now is in our foyer and we bought a new larger tree for the living room.
The small tree is our nostalgia tree. All our handmade and personal ornaments. Brandon also got his wish and is running a train around it. It's super playful and whimsy.
Our living room is more traditional. We always had real trees and garland growing up so this year I decided to use real garland on the mantle. I love the smell and I hope it's still looking as lovely on Christmas morning. Now all I need is some presents to go under them.
Brandon also got all the house lights up and they look beautiful. He was also so sweet to get my mom's up. I'm not sure the last time she's had light up on her house but it's been awhile.
I love decorating and designing, but for me it's so much more. Christmas to me will always be about giving thanks to my Heavenly Father, spending time with my love ones and celebrating our Savior's birth. We are so blessed.

Harlan is One!!!
Harlan,
Today is your first birthday. You were born on a beautiful Friday afternoon right before Thanksgiving. You came into the world with ease and you have been such an easy going baby. You are so happy and laid back. Your smile is contagious. The first time I held you was in the hospital a couple hours after you were born. You stole my heart then and I fall in love with you more and more every time I see you. Your birthday party was so much fun yesterday. You had a blast opening your gifts and eating your chocolate cupcake. I loved seeing you so happy. I can't believe you're one. Time seems to have gotten away from us. You have hit so many milestones already and I can't wait to see what amazing things you will do in year two. I know this year will be a year of change for you. You are going to become a big brother in a couple of months to your two precious sisters. But I know you will handle the job well. You already play so well with Hannah. I just want you to know how special you are to me and our family and that I will always have your back and love you no matter what. Take care big guy and I will see you soon.
Love Always,
Auntie Jenn
