It's A...

Well last Friday was Brittany and Jonathan's big ultrasound to find out the sex of their baby. I really didn't know what it was going to be and I really didn't care either way. Just as long as my niece or nephew was healthy. Their appointment was really early in the morning and then their plan was to drive to Lubbock for a big gender reveal party. I called my brother around 11am to see if he would spill the beans, but he didn't. I thought there was a faint disappointment in his voice which led me to believe it was a girl. My brother desparately wanted a boy and I thought it was too good to be true if he actually would get his wish.

Friday night we headed over to Brittany's folks house. Brandon wore blue and Hannah and I wore pink. There were about 30-40 people there all anxious to find out what this little peanut is.

My brother and sister-in-law are pretty creative and couldn't just come out and tell us what it is; they made us work for it. We divided ourselves into two teams. Those of us who thought it was a girl wore pink and those who thought it was a boy wore blue. There were more blue team members than pink for sure. I think this made my brother happy. Then we played this game where Jonathan and Brittany were asked old wives tales about pregnancy and based on the answer team pink or team blue got a point. It was really fun and super funny to hear some the answers. In the end, team pink won out! So our team captain, Dr. Kelsey O'Meara, got to open the sack to reveal the gender to the crowd.

And it is...

A BOY!!!!

I was in total shock, but so happy. My mom and I along with both of Brittany's parents really thought it was a girl.

My dad, grandmother, Brandon, and both of Britt's siblings thought it was a boy and were right.

I'm so excited to meet this little guy in November and I can't wait to start buying little boy things. Our family is so blessed to have Hannah and to now know little Harlan Frazier Holmes is on his way.

Hannah Kate You're 3 Months Old Today :)

3 Months ago today Hannah came into this world and life has not been the same since. I can't imagine my life without her. She is just the light of my life and I just thank God for blessing us with this little miracle.

Today I had to take her to the doctor because she has had a runny nose and a cough for over a week now and we needed to make sure it wasn't an infection. Thank goodness it wasn't. But because we went I got to have her weighed and measured.

She weighed 13 lbs 13oz. She still measures the same length from her 2 month check at 23 inches. She is our short, chunky monkey. Here are more of her 3 Month stats.

-You still wear a size 1 diaper, but I think your about to have to move up to a 1-2
-You still wear 0-3 month clothes and 3 month clothes but are quickly outgrowing them.
-You eat 5 oz every 3 hours during the day
-You go to bed around 7-8pm and sleep anywhere between 5-7am!!! (never thought we'd get here but it's been so great)
-You are still a pretty serious baby, but you do smile at certain times of the day and have really started to smile more often.
-You are so sweet and content for the most part. The girls at day care love that :)
-You discovered your hands last month and they're always in your mouth
-You have really started "talking" and it warms my heart to hear all the noises you started making
-You take a pacifier and it puts you to sleep which is awesome
-You still love your bath so much and it's my favorite time of the day

-You have lots of pretty dark hair in the back and your eyes are still a gorgeous shade of blue
-You love to sit upright and look at everything that's going on. You're getting pretty good at holding your head up
-You still aren't a fan of tummy time, but it's getting better

-You've been to church several times and love the music
-You love riding in the car and look like such a big girl in your car seat

Tomorrow evening we are going over to my brother's in-law's home for fajitas and to find out if Jonathan and Brittany will be welcoming a little boy or girl this fall. That's right, my brother and sister-in-law are having a baby of their own in November. We are so excited. Hannah will have a little cousin to grow up with.

They are suppose to have their ultrasound in the morning to find out the sex of the baby and then drive to Lubbock for a gender reveal party tomorrow night. We are suppose to wear pink if we think it's a girl or blue if we think it's a boy. I'm going to wear PINK! My brother wants a boy which makes me think it'll be a girl, but we'll see. I can't wait til November to start spoiling my nephew or niece :)

Hannah Kate You're 12 Weeks Old!!!!

Yesterday Hannah turned 12 weeks. Wow!!! Next Thursday she'll be 3 months old. Doesn't seem possible. I could remember in the early weeks thinking if we could just get to 3 months then maybe we'll be sleeping again. And we are. The other night Hannah slept from 7:30pm-7:00am. Couldn't believe it. She is such a good sleeper and eater. We are still working on the smiling thing though. The people at day care say she's so sweet and content but always looks as if she's ready to fight. Ha :) I guess she's just a deep thinker and saves all her smiles for me and daddy.

Speaking of daddy, Brandon went out of town last weekend from Thursday to Sunday and left me alone with the baby all weekend. It was a lot of hard work but we survived. He went on a fishing trip with his dad and brothers down by Corpus Cristi and had a blast. We really missed him. Mainly me. I love my husband and really rely on him for so much. He's a great dad, husband, but most of all he's my best friend. Sunday is Father's Day and it's his 1st one so hopefully I can make it special for him.

2 Months 2 Weeks and 2 Days Old!!!

What a fun day. Hannah is 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days old today. She is doing great if I do say so myself. Last week she slept through the entire night 3 nights. The last few nights she got up once around 3am for about 30 minutes and went back to sleep until I had to wake her up to go to day care. Poor baby :( I know she doesn't like for me to disrupt her sleep, but she does usually wake up with a smile for me anyway.

She also has been greeting me with a smile every day when I pick her up from day care. Every time she smiles it just lights up my whole day and makes all I've gone through so worth it. She is still a pretty serious baby most of the time, but in the past two weeks she has been responding to us a lot more and really noticing the world. I love all the little noises she makes. They're so cute!!!

I had a photo shoot with her this weekend. I brought my work camera home and got some really great photos of our growing girl. She was such a great sport and I really love all the photos I was able to get. Here are some of them. Enjoy!!!

What a Week!!!

We had a crazy week this past week. Well after we all got over the stomach bug, Hannah still had a cold and was sneezing a coughing a lot. She also was really fussy after getting her shots last week and I had to go pick her up from day care early that day. Not fun at all.

It was super hot this weekend. We tried mostly to stay inside on Saturday, but we had 2 big parties on Sunday. Sunday afternoon we went to the pool up at the gym to celebrate our niece's birthday. I didn't swim but they all seemed to have a great time. It was so stinkin hot though. I think it reached 104. WoW!!! We kept Hannah in the shade of the gazebo the whole time. Sunday evening was still hot but we had a block party in our neighborhood. We have the best neighbors :) Everyone had such a great time. My friend Lindsey is in town from Miami this summer to attend law school summer school here. It was her first time to meet Hannah this Sunday. It was really a neat time for me. I miss her a lot.

Well yesterday was an interesting day as well. Nothing went very right. I got Hannah up around 7am and was in a real rush to get her out the door to day care so I could make my breakfast meeting by 8am. Brandon had been taking her to day care up til this week, but summer camp started at the gym and he needs to be there earlier. Anyway, I got her ready and out the door but she was really fussy. So in all the chaos I forgot my phone at home. I went to my meeting and then had to run out to our sign company to talk about some projects and then up to the hospital to work on setting up for this weekends CMN Telethon. I didn't get back to my office til almost 1 and I called Brandon. He told me he had been trying to get a hold of me all morning because he had to take Hannah to the doctor because she has thrush (a bacteria in her mouth). I had the car seat in my car and he had to borrow one from the day care. I felt pretty bad and will try extra hard never to leave my phone anywhere again. Lesson learned. Everything worked out though and Hannah is doing okay. She is on medication 3 times a day for 10 days and we have to boil all her bottles and pacifiers every night.

But on a brighter note she slept through the night!!! Last night I put her to bed (after a cry fest that lasted an hour) around 9pm and she slept til 6:30am this morning :) That's 9.5 hours people!!! I'm so proud of her and so thrilled to have gotten that much sleep. It was wonderful. We'll see if she keeps it up or if it was just a fluke.
