Hannah is changing everyday. Love that I'm able to capture all these changes each month. Thought the photos turned out great considering she hasn't been feeling well lately.

Hannah Kate You are Half a Year Old!!!!

Hannah you make me smile everyday. You are my heart and the love of my life. Every day I feel more blessed to be your mom. I wake up thinking how truly grateful I am to have such a wonderful baby.

How can it be that 6 months ago on this day I was in labor preparing for you to come into this world? Everyone said it would go by too fast and it has. These next 6 months will be gone in a flash and we will be celebrating your first birthday before we know it.

I treasure each second I'm around you. I tell you everyday how special you are and how wanted you are. You changed me for the better. My heart wasn't near whole until you came into my life.

You have also captivated your daddy's heart completely . He gets such a kick out of making you laugh. He thinks it's so funny and so do I. You are his little "chicken cat" (Don't ask me where he came up with that name I don't really know) :)

Already you have changed so much. You aren't the snuggley newborn you were just a few months ago. You really are noticing the world more and want to see everything. You can roll over, sit up on your own, laugh, smile, blow bubbles, eat baby food, and so much more. I'm excited to see what milestone you will accomplish next. I hope it's saying your first word, "Mama"

Today was your 6 month check-up. You did great. We are still battling an ear infection, but hopefully that will clear up soon. Other than that you are perfectly healthy.

Here are some stats:
Weight: 17lbs 8oz (80th percentile)
Height: 26.5" (75th percentile)
-You wear 6 month clothes and are moving into 6-9month
-You wear a size 3 diaper
-You are sleeping okay. Lately you are hungry in the middle of the night so we need you to work on sleeping all the way through again.
-You still eat 5 oz bottles every 3 hours
-You are such a happy baby most of the time
-You had a double ear infection this month and a cold
-You went on your second big road trip to Taos,NM and did great. We had so much fun!

-So far you have tried brown rice cereal, bananas, apple sauce, peas, and sweet potatoes. You loved everything.
-You are such a content little baby. Sometimes I don't even know you're there. You play by yourself well and I think you are starting to play with the other babies in your day care too.
-You started sitting up unassisted and you love it. It's your favorite thing to do.
-You still are really drooling but no teeth yet
-You are going to get to meet the last of your great-grandmas this week and she is so excited!!!
-You had a flu shot and it made you have a fever. Have to remember that one :(
-You are so stinkin cute and get more beautiful all the time

Hannah you are doing so well for someone who's only been on this earth for a very short time. I look at you and my heart smiles. You are my precious baby girl and I love you so much!!!

Hannah Update and More

Well I finally have a moment to sit down and blog. It's been really tough to do these last few weeks. I'm just really busy at work and at home. Hannah is really changing. I no longer have a sweet sleepy little newborn. She is a very active almost 6 month old. Wow!

Here are some things we have been up to lately:

We had Brittany's baby shower for Harlan a few weeks ago. It was really nice. Can't wait to see his nursery. I go to Dallas in 2.5 weeks and I'll get to see it then.

Harlan's Grandmas

I finally got my hair cut. It's been awhile. I think over a year. They cut 5" off and it's still really long.

Hannah went to her fist First Friday Art Trail. She did really well, but it was pretty crowded so we didn't stay long. At least she got to see her Grandpa.

Hannah went to her first Tech tailgating (sorry no pictures) It was really hot but I took her anyway. We didn't stay long and I'm glad because a huge dust storm blew in during the second quarter of the game. Yuck!!!

Brandon's Pedi Cab business started up again. They got some great sponsors this year for the games and the drivers did really well.

Hannah started eating solids. I decided to make her some baby food using the guidance of this website So far she has tried brown rice cereal, mashed up bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, and apple sauce. She loved everything. We even got her highchair out and she ate in that this morning. It was cute.

Hannah also started sitting on her own last week. She is such a big girl. She even got promoted into the next baby classroom at daycare. She is doing so well!

Hannah watching a little football

Lastly I decided since I was being so domestic by making my own baby food, I thought I would try being really crafty and make some bows for Hannah. It looks so easy online. Ha! It's not. I failed miserably on my first attempts. I'll try again soon to see if I can do better. (To embarrassed to post pictures)

Well that's it for now. We are off to Taos, NM this weekend for Britt's sister Cayle's wedding. Can't wait. A little mountain air should do us all good.

Hannah Update Finally!!!

Well finally I have a moment to sit down and blog. My little baby turned 5 months since I last posted. She is doing so wonderful and experiencing new things everyday.

Here are some stats as of lately.

-You weigh 16.5 lbs and are 26" long
-You wear 3-6 months, 6 month, and some 6-9 months clothes (I laugh when I see 0-3 month clothes in the drawer or closet and say there is no way you can fit in those anymore)
-You wear size 2 diaper but we will be moving you into a 3 soon
-You still sleep really well. Usually you go down to be around 7pm and sleep til 5:30-6am. Sometimes you make it to 7:30am
-You eat 5 oz bottles during the day every 3 hours
-You still are pretty content most of the time

-You started spitting up more. I still think it has to do with your runny nose.
-You had your first sickness this week. You have the Croup :(
-You are also drooling a lot so maybe you are teething
-You went on your first trip to Oklahoma City and did really well. It's easier to travel with you in the evening. You slept almost the whole way to OKC
-You met your 2nd of 3 great-grandmas and she loved spending time with you.

-You also met 2 of your great uncles.
-You will take your second road trip in a couple of weeks to Taos, NM
-You smile all the time and started laughing a lot more too.
-You really love animals. You love our fish tank and stare at it with amazement. You also think Teensy is pretty fun too.
-You still roll from front to back only. Correction you just rolled from back to front this morning. Way to go Hannah!!!
-You love sucking on your toes now. They are your favorite toy :)

-You ate rice cereal for the first time the other day and bananas yesterday for the first time. You loved both. I think you are going to like all foods. More on this topic later.

I love you so much Hannah. You are the light of my and your daddy's life. You make my heart smile everyday and I feel so blessed to call you my daughter. Can't believe you are almost half a year old. Time just slips away so fast. I cherish every moment I get to spend with you.

I still need to blog about our trip to Oklahoma City, Brittany's baby shower, and starting solid foods, but it's a start.

Busy Busy Weekend

Well I really don't have much to update. Hannah and I had a busy weekend last weekend. On Saturday was Britt's sisters bridal shower. I decided to bring Hannah. I thought she would do well since it was only an hour. Well she didn't really do that great. As soon as we got there she started fussing like she was hungry. So I fed her and then got some food for myself. The party was lovely by the way. First class for sure! After I had a quick bite I had Hannah in my lap and she all the sudden projectile spit up all over the nice floors. Luckily I was quick with the burp rag and cleaned it up. She just wasn't her usual calm self and it made for an "interesting" morning.

This was us before the party. Thought Little Miss looked so cute.

My friend Kari and her husband Brad were here from OKC for her 10 year high school reunion so we met up with them for lunch. We will be traveling to OKC not this weekend but the next so we will see them again. I'm so glad we are still in touch after all these years not living in the same city. We can go a long time without seeing each other and it feels like nothing has changed. Love my Kari :)

Saturday night I was up late baking cupcakes for the Cayle's recipe shower and luncheon. They turned out great! I made Snickerdoodle cupcakes with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Delicious! However, I had to get up early the next morning and make more because my first batch didn't make enough.

This is the invitation I designed for the shower.

Sunday I was in a rush to get things done for the luncheon. It was a busy day, but everything turn out so nice. (Pictures to be posted soon). 29 people came and it was one of the nicest showers I've ever been to. Everyone had a great time and the food was great.

Cayle is getting married in like 38 days in Taos, NM and I can't wait. Just bought my dress yesterday for it. Got in on sale at 65% off for $35!!! Now if I could only find Hannah a dress then we'll be set.

Here some photos to brighten your day :)

This and That

We had a great weekend just hanging out with family and Brandon worked on the backyard. I got a manicure and pedicure which was great and greatly needed. That is one thing that I have neglected after having Hannah so it was nice to have them done.

Monday was a hard day for me. Monday's are the worst for me. After spending all weekend with my baby it's so hard to go back to work. I struggle Monday's to focus on work when all I want to do is go get Hannah. I know this is something I need to really work on and overcome.

Tuesday I took the day off, but it didn't feel like a day off. I laid around in the morning and that afternoon we went to the doctor to get Brandon set up with his diabetic insulin pump. It's been a long time coming. Everything went well and we are now in the process of getting his insulin rates regulated, but so far so good. The biggest adjustment for him I think is wearing the pump all the time. Sleeping with it is an adjustment because he tosses and turns and it's a little more difficult to do that with the pump attached at his hip.

Tuesday night we went over to a friend's house for a barbecue. I didn't know how Hannah would do. She didn't do very well at all. This baby is pretty much in the routine of playing after we get home from day care til 7pm and then bath, bottle and bed by 7:30pm. So we really through her off her schedule and she was pretty upset about it. We survived, but I don't think I'll be taking her to a party at night anytime soon.

This weekend is Brittany's sister Cayle's wedding shower. Saturday is her big Lubbock shower and Sunday Mom, Brittany, and I are hosting a recipe shower and luncheon for her. I can't wait to see how everything turns out. I'm sure I will be very tired come Sunday night, but my cousin Joel and his wife are coming to stay with us so we need to get the house cleaned. Hope they won't mind a crying baby in the middle of the night. It will probably reinforce their desire not to have kids for a while. Ha!

Hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend :)
