Catching Up

Goodness gracious where does the time go? I haven't blogged in two months. Life just gets away from me and this little time capsule of our lives gets neglected for sure. We are busy. I don't know if I have ever been this busy at work. By the time I get home, play with the kids, get them fed bathed to bed and Brandon and I eat dinner, it's already 10 o'clock and I'm ready to crash. But I think it's important to document our life so here's an update of the last few months.

Brandon and I celebrated 6 years of marriage on March 21st. Honestly it really is the most natural relationship I've ever had and 6 years has flown by. We've been together for 8 1/2 years and we are truly best friends and still very much in love. We have so much fun. We're still learning about each other and growing in our relationship all the time. He gets me. All of me. And I get him. We just click. I can't wait to see what God does in the next 6 years of our lives together as we grow as a couple and navigate this crazy life together.


On our anniversary, we spent the day at the Fort Worth Zoo with my brother and his family. It was a blast. The kids just played and played. It's so much fun when they all get together.

We spent a few days with them and then traveled to Houston to see Brandon's Grandma. She's doing so well for 96 years old and so enjoyed getting to see the kids.

This was the first road trip for Hudson. At times it was a real challenge, but we made it across Texas and back and I'm so glad we decided to do this. It was so great to see everyone.

On March 23rd our sweet girl turned 4. Hannah Kate at 4 years old is total cuteness and sass all at the same time. She is hilarious and says the funniest things all the time. She's also very spirited. She has lots of emotions that sometimes she doesn't know what to do with them. She can be very dramatic but also very sweet. She's getting so big and learning so much.

We celebrated her birthday for like a month. Girl was spoiled for sure. She deserves it :) I love having her for a daughter. She's the best big sister and loves her little brother so much. They play so well together. I'm so blessed!

Hudson is now 16 months. I can't believe it. He's turning into a little boy right before our eyes. He is the sweetest little love bug around. He's so affectionate to everyone. He's constantly giving us kisses and hugs. He's so handsome and smart. I just love him. He makes me happy.

He had his ear tubes put in March 26th. Surgery and recovery went really well except for scary bleeding incident the day after surgery. He got a great report last Friday. So far, it's been a really great decision for us.

Easter was so wonderful this year. We had a great time spending the weekend with family. The weather was really beautiful too.

Hudson started full time walking a few weeks ago. It's made life more fun now that he can just get up and go.

I'm in a women's group called If:Table.  It's amazing! A group of 6 moms gathered around a table once a month sharing a simple meal and having Christ centered conversations. We laugh a lot, cry some, and go really deep with each other. Every time I leave the table I feel fuller than when I came in. It's just a good place to fill my spiritual cup.(Acts 2:46)
I'm also starting an 8 week Bible study with some of them. We're going through Jennie Allen's book stuck. Should be really good.

That's a little bit of what's going on. Life's not slowing down anytime soon. I love my life. I'm so grateful for all my blessings. For our family, marriage, friends, church, community. We have it pretty great and I never want to take anything for granted. 

Hudson 14 Months

My sweet boy is 14 months old! I know it's been forever since I blogged and I'm not sure when I'll be able to again. Life is moving too fast right now and I haven't really had time to even think about blogging. However, I do find it very helpful and sentimental to look back at old posts and remember what my kids were doing at certain ages.

Hudson has changed so much since turning one. His personality is coming out and it's so fun to watch. He's my love bug. Always hugging, kissing and loving on us. He's so sweet and friendly and funny and busy. You put him down and he's in the next room before you can blink. I'm contantly having to watch him and make sure he's not getting into something he shouldn't. About 90% of the time he is. Here are his 14 month stats.

14 Month Update

Weight: Around 22-23 lbs
Height: 30.5 inches?
 
Features: You have dark hazel eyes. You have dark blonde hair that curls up in the back. You are getting more hair. I think you look like your daddy but have my eyes and skin complexion. Which is funny, because Hannah looks like me but has her daddy's eye color and skin complexion. You have sensitive skin. You have 8 teeth which makes for an adorable toothy grin. 

Clothes: Nothing fits you right now. You are slimming up and growing taller. Some 12 month stuff still fits but for the most part you are moving into 12-18 month clothes and 18 month stuff. I need to go shopping :)
 

Sleep: Ugh sleep. Sometimes you sleep like a rock star and other times not so much. You've been feeling so much better so you sleep a lot better these days. I still rock you to sleep after feeding you a bottle. I probably will for as long as you let me. I enjoy it so much. It's my special time with you every night.

Eating: You eat most everything we do. Your favorite foods are strawberries, oranges, bananas, turkey, sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, waffles, toast, eggs, applesauce, cheese puffs, crackers, and corn dogs. You don't like chicken. Your allergic to dairy so no yogurt or cheese for you. You drink organic Silk Soy Milk. It took awhile to find an alternative milk that you would drink. This is the one you like. You still take one bottle of formula at night, but this is the last can I'm buying. So you will take 4 6oz bottles of soy milk a day, plus 3 meals and a snack. You eat a lot :)

Likes: You still love your bath. You love to splash all the water out of the bathtub and think it's so funny when Mama or Mimi get soaking wet. You love your sister and and want to do everything she does. You love to climb up on things and get into things you shouldn't. You love to be held and loved on. You like music. You love being outside. This summer is going to be fun. You love the water. You've started liking playing with toys. You love to throw the ball. 

Milestones: You are on the move. You crawl and cruise everywhere, climb up onto things and pull up on everything. Last month you started taking your first steps unassisted. You can stand up from the ground by yourself, take about 4-5 steps before falling down. You are still a little uncoordinated, but will probably be a full time walker soon. You look so cute :)

You are so expressive and are saying so many words. You say "dada" "mama" "Hannah" "baby" "hi" "ball" "oh" "no" "blue" "cheese" "please" "baba (bottle) "Teensy" "bye bye" "fish". You also repeat things we say. You have the sweetest voice. 

You are quite the little ham. Everyone loves trying to make you laugh. Everyone loves being around you because you are so fun. However, you do have a whinny side, but that only comes out if you want something you can't have or if you are really hungry or tired.

From November to mid January you were pretty sick with non stop with ear infections. Finally we got you scheduled for tubes. Ever since then you've been doing great. Of course. You haven't had an ear infection or any other illness since January. I give all the glory to God on this one. If you are still well by March 17th I think we'll cancel your surgery. We don't want to have them done if it's not absolutely necessary.

Hudson you are my angel. We are just so in love with you sweet boy. You make our family so complete. Can't imagine life without you. God has truly blessed us with a sweet boy to add to our sweet girl.  

Hudson A Look Back

Hudson is ONE!

What a great day to turn one! Actually to be perfectly honest it feels a little anticlimactic since we already celebrated last Saturday. But today at 10:03am our sweet boy turned one. 365 days of sweetness. He has stolen my heart, if you didn't know that by now. Ha! From the moment I found we were expecting a little boy, I knew my life would never be the same. And I accepted the challenge of becoming a "boy mom." He has far exceeded my expectations and I love being his mom.

Already at 12 months he does things very differently than big sis. He's way more adventurous, curious, and noisy than she ever was at this age. But I love it! He keeps me on my toes. I melt when he smiles and I can't get over the cuteness and those dimples.
