I've been looking forward to being 20 weeks for a long time. Mainly because it's the beginning of the other side of pregnancy. The side where I'm not sick all the time. The time where we know what the baby is. The time we can call him or her by name. The time where I feel the baby move a lot more. The time where we get to start shopping!!! The time where we have baby showers. All of this to lead up to the most important time; the time when this miracle baby will be born.
On the eve of "THE ULTRASOUND", I want to let everyone know the names we chose for the baby. So here they are...

We chose the boy name, Hudson first. Before Brandon and I even thought about having a baby we knew if we had a boy someday his name would be Hudson. I heard it somewhere and asked Brandon one day if he liked the name and he did. His middle name is Jacob which is the same as Brandon's. I think they go perfectly together. We also like that his first and last names start with the letter "H".
The boy name was easy. The same thing can not be said for the girl name. We actually just officially decided on the name a few weeks ago. Brandon really liked the idea of the first and last names starting with an "H" just like Hudson. Unfortunately, there aren't too many girls names I like that start with an "H".
Names like Hallie, Hazel, Harmony, Haddie, Heidi, Hillary, Hope and Heaven kept popping up on my searches. I liked the name Hollyn, but Brandon thought it sounded too much like Holland and hated it. I also liked the names Harlow and Haidyn, but I was again shot down by Brandon. Then I suggested we not pick an H name at all. I liked the names Emmerson, Kenley, and Madison, but Brandon insisted on a "H" name.
So we kinda narrowed in down to 2 that we both liked and ended up going with Hannah. I also had a hard time with the middle name. For no reason at all except for that I liked the way it sounds with Hannah I suggested Kate. Brandon liked it a lot. I looked up what Hannah and Kate both meant. Hannah means "God's Grace" and Kate means "Pure". Put them together and her name means "God's Pure Grace". Isn't that beautiful?
So that is the story behind the names. Can't wait to find out tomorrow if Hudson Jacob or Hannah Kate will be joining our family. Either way we are so blessed and excited. Hope he or she cooperates and gives us a good look. Mostly we're just praying that the baby is perfectly healthy.
