Our Sweet Teensy Girl

We had to make the difficult decision to put our Teensy down last week. We have been struggling over it for awhile but neither Brandon or I were ready to do it. She was only 10 1/2 years old. We had been seeing a decline in her health though for awhile. She didn't have as much energy as she use to. She was having difficulties getting up off her back legs and she was not holding her bladder or bowels. She was also going blind and running into walls. It was just time. But it sucks and we're hurting.

I got Teensy for a companion while I was still in college. I really had no business buying a puppy, but she was so cute. I fell in love. She was just this little black and white round plump with a pink nose. As cute as she was though, she was equally as destructive. She destroyed the carpet in two of my apartments, chewed up so many pairs of shoes as a puppy, broke two metal kennels, tore up my mom's couch, and so many other things.

When Brandon and I first started dating I was worried it might be a deal breaker that I had a dog. Fortunately for me, he accepted her as his own dog and together we have built a life together. She was our first baby before we had babies.

Teensy was so good with my kids. Bringing a new baby home from the hospital is stressful and the last thing you want to worry about is how your dog will react. Teensy just ignored Hannah and Hudson which was a good thing when they were so small. As they grew she grew to love them and they loved her so much.

We are heartbroken, but we know it was the right thing to do and we have peace about it. We will miss our Teensy girl :(
