Hannah's 5th Birthday Party

Hannah turned FIVE on March 23rd. To celebrate we went all out this year and had her first true friends party at Blazing Bouncers. It was so much fun! Hannah would rather have a Peppa Pig or Barbie party, but I prefer a more neutral party theme. So I decided to do a Funfetti Fifth Birthday theme. It turned out so cute!

Details:
Green and White Dot Table Cloths, Plates, Cups, Napkins and Balloons from Shop Sweet Lulu
Gold Happy Birthday Banner, Cake Toppers, Gold Forks & Cupcake Wrappers from Hobby Lobby
Black & White Stripe Cloths from Walmart
Black & White Stripe Straws & Treat Bags from Target

Can't believe our girl is FIVE. She's changed so much in the last five years. Here's a look back at some of her past birthdays.

Hannah Kate Is 5!!!

On the night you were born the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you ever in the world. ~ Nancy Tillman

And life my dear Hannah has not been the same since that night you were born (11:33pm to be exact). When you asks me about her birth, I no longer focus in on the struggle it was or how painful it was. I simply say, "You were so happy being inside my mama's belly and were so cozy that you just decided you didn't want to be born". We both laugh because you love getting cozy. Then you say, "But I came out and I'm here now!" Yes you are my sweet girl! Yes you are!

And for the past five years we have laughed, cried, played, argued at times, and grown together. You have taught me so much. How to be a better mother and how to be a better person. I really like you and I like the person I am when I'm with you. You challenge me in my patience some times and make me laugh all the time. You are so beautiful inside and out.

You are sensitive and sweet. You love to make jokes and be silly too. You are cautious with new things, but will try most things with a little coaxing. You are such a helper. You love your brother so much and are such a great big sister. Your Daddy is by far your favorite person. You love spending time with him every chance you can. He is your hero. You have a great bond with all your family. You love your cousins. You love getting together with them and playing. It's so fun to watch.

I can't believe you are going to Kindergarten this fall. You are very excited about that. I think you will be ready. You have had a great year in Pre K so I'm feeling confident you will do well next year too. You like school, you just don't like getting up for school in the mornings. You are NOT a morning person. You get that from both your parents. Ha!

I love you with all my heart Hannah Kate! You make life so wonderful! My life has truly never been the same since you made your entrance into this world 5 years ago. Can't wait to see all the wonderful things you will accomplish in the year to come :)

Love, Mama

Our Sweet Teensy Girl

We had to make the difficult decision to put our Teensy down last week. We have been struggling over it for awhile but neither Brandon or I were ready to do it. She was only 10 1/2 years old. We had been seeing a decline in her health though for awhile. She didn't have as much energy as she use to. She was having difficulties getting up off her back legs and she was not holding her bladder or bowels. She was also going blind and running into walls. It was just time. But it sucks and we're hurting.

I got Teensy for a companion while I was still in college. I really had no business buying a puppy, but she was so cute. I fell in love. She was just this little black and white round plump with a pink nose. As cute as she was though, she was equally as destructive. She destroyed the carpet in two of my apartments, chewed up so many pairs of shoes as a puppy, broke two metal kennels, tore up my mom's couch, and so many other things.

When Brandon and I first started dating I was worried it might be a deal breaker that I had a dog. Fortunately for me, he accepted her as his own dog and together we have built a life together. She was our first baby before we had babies.

Teensy was so good with my kids. Bringing a new baby home from the hospital is stressful and the last thing you want to worry about is how your dog will react. Teensy just ignored Hannah and Hudson which was a good thing when they were so small. As they grew she grew to love them and they loved her so much.

We are heartbroken, but we know it was the right thing to do and we have peace about it. We will miss our Teensy girl :(

My Funny Valentines

I just love these two. They make life so sweet!

Christmas 2015

We had a very low key Christmas for the most part. I have to admit it took me a little bit of time this year to get into the Christmas spirit. But it all came together and we had a great time celebrating with our families. On Dec 23rd Hannah came down with the stomach bug. So all our Christmas Eve plans were a wash. We instead were battling dehydration and delirium. Not exactly what I pictured we would be doing, but so is life. Christmas Day we got up and took our time eating breakfast and opening presents just the four of us. Thankfully Hannah had bounced back and really enjoyed the day. We had Christmas that night with Brandon's family and Christmas the next day with my family at my Mom's house. And then the the Blizzard Goliath Snowmageddon came and we were stuck inside for days. Crazy!!! I turned 32 (eeek!!!) on Dec 30th and now it's 2016! Such a crazy month we have had. I'm so glad the hustle and bustle is over and I have a routine back and I'm looking forward to all the exciting things to come this year.
