BOY? or GIRL?

Well I've officially made it to the half way point!!! Yay. In honor of this pregnancy milestone I thought we could have some fun.

Is baby Hughes be a BOY? or a GIRL? If you believe in old wives' tales, here's how baby Hughes #2 measures up. I also thought it would be fun to look back at these and compare the tales to when I was pregnant with Hannah. 

Carrying High or Low?
I think I always look like I'm carrying high. So let's go with GIRL. 
I carried very high with Hannah.

Morning sickness?
Yes. That's suppose to be an indicator that you're having a GIRL.
I had severe morning sickness with HK.

Craving sweet or savory?
The old wives' tales say that craving sweet foods can mean a little girl is on the way, while salty or savory foods indicate you'll be buying blue. I have to say this pregnancy I've been craving way more salty things than sweet. It's a BOY.  
I craved lots of sweets with HK.

Chinese birth chart?
The Chinese birth chart told us GIRL.
It also said girl with Hannah.

Skin quality?
They say little girls steal their mama's beauty. If you have clear skin that means you're carrying a boy. My skin has been clear, so it must mean BOY.
No break outs with Hannah either.

Heart rate?
The powers that be say that a girl typically carries a higher heart rate (above 140), and a boy carries a lower. This baby has been in the high 150s at the highest. Last heart rate was 142.
So let's go with GIRL.
Hannah's hear rate was always really high, 155-170.

Clumsier than normal?
If you find yourself clumsier with pregnancy, you're having a boy. If you remain grounded and still in control of your body, it's a girl.

Yes, I feel more clumsier and more forgetful too. So it's a BOY. 
I don't remember being clumsy with HK.

Baking Soda Test.

I heard about this from another blog. It's kinda weird, but you put a Tb of baking soda into a cup and pee in that cup first thing in the morning. If you see fizz and foam it's a boy, but if it does nothing it's a girl. Mine fizzed a little and foamed at the top. It's a BOY. 
 I didn't do this test when I was pregnant the first time.

Mayan Calendar.

Legend has it that the Mayans determined a baby's sex by looking at the mother's age at conception and the year of conception. If both are even or odd, it's a girl. If one's even and one's odd, it's a boy.
I'm 29 and this baby was conceived in 2013. Both are odd, so it's a GIRL.
I was 26 when I got pregnant with HK and it was 2010. So it said I was having a girl that time too.

These are just fun little gender predictors. I don't believe any of them, but it's fun to look at. We find out on Monday at our ultrasound. I'm so excited!!!
